lyrics

I am a fortress,
A wall of pride reenforced by flesh and bone,
For the walls I’ve known are a home constructed from The ground up.
Brick by brick I build a fabricated existence centered Solely on self-satisfaction that seeks to satiate the
Sinful desires of my heart.
I cower behind a paralyzing passivity,
A fallacious fear of failure, for
I am silent.

I am a fortress.
Facing these fore winds headstrong,
I long to be free from the ties that bind me to the
Will of my nature.
These bones ache from a load too heavy to carry on my own two shoulders.
A storm is approaching.
I hear it.
I feel it.

The timbre of a tempest transcending the walls of
Sixteen years worth of my pride,
How could my eyes be so blind to find my faith in this
Fabricated fortress falling before me?

These walls crumble into the sea only to be swept away
By grace.

It’s time to mend this broken soul.
It’s time to fill this hollow heart; heartbroken, open, and
Hoping for restoration,
Because I don’t have it figured out,
Figured out these wasted days, chasing a taste of
Something that wasn’t anything, was nothing more than
A dangerous dream.

But it seems that I can finally speak.
I can tell you
I have found a home.
